Chausey, the village of blainvillais

The hamlet owes its name with the littoral village of Blainville in Normandy from which came each summer families of workers to burn the kelp and to produce soda exploited in glassmaking. During the 19th century, this activity created hundreds of seasonal jobs on the archipelago. This hamlet is currently inhabited by some residents faithful to Chausey.
