Seaweeds

The large ascophyllum covers the rocks of the médiolittoral level (top of the seashore)

The large herbarium, (plant with flowers and not an alga) which appear only at extreme low tide, constitute a shelter for many species: anemones, shrimps, small wrasses...

The kelps (laminaria) grow at the infralittoral level, firmly clamp together with rocks to resist the strong current and the swell movement. This species is not currently exploited in the archipelago of Chausey.

The fisherman will find there : prawns, edible crabs, velvet swimming crabs..
